September 2, 2021The Economic Opportunity Act states in part: “It is, therefore, the policy of the United States to eliminate the paradox of poverty in the midst of plenty in this nation by opening, to everyone, the opportunity for education and training, the opportunity to work, and the opportunity to live in decency and dignity.”
Racism is the catalyst for accelerated loss of life for people of color already struggling with health, economic, and social disparities. SMHA is asking everyone to do more. It is not enough to provide sideline support for non-racist causes. We must engage in constructive and consistent anti-racist action to the issues seeking to separate us, weaken us, and threaten our well-being.
SMHA will do everything in its power to support all lives by continuing to improve lives with resources by providing decent, safe, and sanitary housing for all lives in our community.
